Sometimes You Just Need a Break
Have you ever heard the term “mental health day“?
I used that term last Saturday. The girls were going shopping, and as much as I wanted to be with them (FOMO), I did not want to shop.
What I needed was a break to process the recent suicide of a friend.
So I told them I would stay back at the hotel and take a mental health day.
It was great.
Those few hours made a huge difference.
I did some much needed self reflection though writing, walking and “resting focus” which is what most folks would call meditation. I also wrote this post and this post as I processed my friend’s death.
Could You Use a Mental Health Day?
If so, put it in your calendar soon.
And if for some reason you don’t go through with it, you need to seriously ask yourself, “What is up, here?”.
“Couldn’t I really use a mental health day?”
