IFTTT The Awesome Automator
This was my first test of using If This Then That (IFTTT) to post to this WordPress website.
It’s not very configurable (as far as I can tell) but it works!
This means that when I post to Instagram, I can automatically send that same image to several places at once.
This image went to Instagram (of course) and Facebook (via the switch) then Twitter (via IFTTT, since you can send a real image, not just a link) and now this WordPress site.
Why This is Nice
I like this because I can add context and links to my images. The automation makes the setup easier, and I can pick more customization.
Plus, and this is a big plus. I own this site and have great control over it. That’s something you can’t say for all the other Social media sites I just listed. Remember, don’t be a digital sharecropper and let another company control yours.
